Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, hosted a CBSE Capacity Building Programme (CBP) on “Theory of Knowledge” on October 17, 2026, under the guidance of the Principal, Ms. Gulshan Kaur. The workshop aimed to deepen teachers’ understanding of knowledge, inquiry and reflection while promoting thoughtful, student-centred learning practices. The sessions were conducted by Mr. Rishi Jain, a passionate educationist and coordinator at The S.D. Vidya School, Ambala Cantt, and Ms. Sangita Kashyap, a CBSE Resource Person, whose expertise and insights enriched the programme.
The workshop provided educators with opportunities to explore how knowledge is constructed, interpreted and applied in different contexts. Through interactive discussions and collaborative activities, participants examined strategies to encourage students to ask meaningful questions, analyse diverse perspectives and support their ideas with sound reasoning. Emphasis was laid on critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, reflection and open-minded discussion. Teachers also explored practical approaches to connecting classroom concepts with real-life situations and helping learners distinguish between assumptions, evidence and informed conclusions.
The resource persons highlighted the importance of fostering a classroom environment where curiosity is encouraged, questions are valued and students are motivated to think independently. The workshop offered valuable insights into making learning more meaningful, reflective and engaging. It concluded on a positive note, with participants appreciating the opportunity to exchange ideas and share best practices. The programme reaffirmed the importance of continuous professional development in nurturing reflective, critical and independent thinkers.
