On the eve of Independence Day, the students of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula visited the Major Sandeep Shankla Memorial to pay homage to the brave soldier.
Col. Baberwal, along with Mr. Suraj Shankla, the younger brother of Major Sandeep Sankhla, shared with the students the inspiring story of the valiant officer. They narrated how Major Shankla was awarded India’s highest peacetime gallantry award, the Ashoka Chakra, for his exceptional courage and sacrifice in Jammu and Kashmir. Their words filled the young Bhavanites with immense pride for the Armed Forces and evoked feelings of empathy, patriotism and responsibility as active citizens. Col. Baberwal also guided the students on various pathways to join the Indian Army and serve the nation with dedication.
Principal Mrs. Gulshan Kaur expressed heartfelt gratitude to Col. Baberwal and Mr. Suraj Shankla for their enriching interaction with the students, and urged the Bhavanites to imbibe values of courage, discipline and integrity to become responsible citizens of the country.
