Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula celebrates 13 th Biennial Sports Day with great enthusiasm

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, celebrated its 13 th Biennial Sports Day with great zeal and enthusiasm at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium on November 1, 2025. In her welcome address, Principal Mrs. Gulshan Kaur extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, parents, and students. The event was graced by Sh. Sibananda Mishra, Deputy Director, Sports Authority of India, as the Chief Guest and Mr. Deepak Kumar Singh, Deputy Director of Sports at Chandigarh University as the Guest of Honour.
The celebration began with the unfurling of the National Flag, followed by a spectacular March Past by the students to the spirited beats of the band. The Chief Guest took the salute of the contingents and lauded the impeccable coordination, energy and discipline displayed by the Bhavanites.
In his address, Sh. Sibananda Mishra praised the school for its excellent sporting culture and the remarkable participation of students. Following his motivational address, the Chief Guest declared the Sports Meet open, signalling the start of an exciting array of events. Students displayed their talent and endurance in track events, relay races and the ever-popular parents’ race, which witnessed enthusiastic participation.
The spectators were treated to a series of vibrant performances, including aerobics, taichi and a graceful yoga demonstration. The parachute drill added a splash of colour and synchronization, drawing loud applause from the audience.
Special cash prizes were awarded to Bhavan’s National and International players in recognition of their sporting achievements. Trophies were also presented for:
• Best Athlete: a. Senior category (Boys) : Anay Kaul and Senior category (Girls) : Svadhi Bhardwaj and Devangi b. Junior category (Boys) : Aarush Goel and Junior Senior category (Girls) : Siya
• Best House in March Past: Satyam House
• Best House in Discipline: Shubham House
• Best House in Sports (Senior) : Shubham House
• Best House in Sports (Junior) : Shivam House
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Sunita Saxena, Head of the Sports Department, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Principal, staff members, parents and students for their enthusiastic participation and support.
