Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 15, Panchkula, in association with Sultan Chand & Sons (P) Ltd., Educational Publishers, successfully organised an Accountancy Masterclass and Pedagogy Workshop for educators on Saturday, 22 August 2026, in the school premises.

 

The workshop provided educators with valuable opportunities to enhance their subject knowledge, explore innovative pedagogical approaches, strengthen classroom practices and deepen their understanding of contemporary, competency-based teaching in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP).

 

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by the students from commerce stream, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the school Principal Ms. Gulshan Kaur along with the resource persons, amidst the recitation of shlokas, setting a meaningful and auspicious tone for the day.

 

The workshop was conducted by an eminent Accountancy educator, CA. (Dr.) G.S. Grewal, who brought with him an extensive experience in Accountancy education and professional practice. The sessions covered a wide range of relevant themes, including Artificial Intelligence in Accountancy education, academic and real-world accounting in the light of NEP, innovative pedagogies , framing and attempting Assertion-Reason and Competency- Based Questions, Cash Flow Statement, important issues relating to Issue of Shares, Partnership Accounts and Accounting Ratios which enriched the participants’ subject knowledge and strengthened their understanding of effective pedagogical and assessment practices. An engaging Question-Answer session further enabled participants to clarify queries, exchange ideas and reflect on effective classroom practices.

 

A special interactive session was also organised for Classes XII Commerce students, during which the resource person shared valuable guidance on time management, answer presentation, avoiding common errors and effective examination strategies, providing students with practical tips to enhance their confidence and examination preparedness.

 

The interactive session was highly appreciated by both educators and students, who participated enthusiastically and actively sought valuable guidance from the distinguished resource person.

 

The event concluded on a gracious note with a formal Vote of Thanks extended by the school Principal, Ms. Gulshan Kaur, to the esteemed resource person, Sultan Chand & Sons (P) Ltd. and all the participating educators for their valuable contributions towards the resounding success of the workshop.
