VISIT TO THE TRAFFIC PARK

As part of the school’s educational initiative to promote road safety awareness and responsible behaviour among young learners, the students of Grade 1 visited the Traffic Park under the guidance and encouragement of our respected Principal Ma’am Ms. Gulshan Kaur. The initiative aimed to provide children with meaningful, experiential learning opportunities and help them connect classroom learning with real-life situations.
Accompanied by their teachers and guided by a traffic policeman, the children learnt about the significance of traffic signals, various road signs and road markings. Through practical demonstrations and explanations, they understood the importance of following traffic rules and maintaining discipline on the road. They learnt safe road-crossing practices, including using zebra crossings and footpaths, stopping before crossing, looking carefully in both directions, and crossing only when it was safe to do so. The importance of wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers and fastening seat belts while travelling in cars was also emphasised.
The visit enabled students to recognise common traffic signs, understand basic road safety measures, and develop awareness of the responsibilities of pedestrians and passengers. The hands- on experience made learning interactive and meaningful while fostering alertness, observation skills and responsible decision-making.
The visit was a valuable step towards nurturing safety-conscious and responsible citizens from an early age. It reinforced the message that road safety is everyone’s responsibility and encouraged children to practise safe habits in their daily lives and share their learning with their families.
