Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula organized a One-Day Capacity Building Programme (CBP) on Storytelling as a Pedagogical Tool to equip teachers with innovative and engaging classroom strategies.
Resource persons Kalpa Bali, PGT English, HOD & Activity Coordinator at Kundan International School, Chandigarh, and Jyoti Bhagat, Principal of Solitaire International School, conducted the workshop. The sessions were highly interactive and focused on the effective use of storytelling to enhance teaching-learning processes.
The programme began with an introduction and ice-breaking activities, followed by sessions on the elements and types of storytelling. Participants actively engaged in creative exercises such as “Join the Maze,” “Twist-A-Tale,” and “Read-O-Paint,” which highlighted the importance of imagination and structure in storytelling.
Teachers also explored how storytelling can be integrated across subjects, including Language, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science, through collaborative group activities. The workshop concluded with practical strategies for incorporating storytelling in the classroom to make learning more meaningful and student-centered.
The programme was well received by participants, who appreciated its hands-on approach and relevance to modern pedagogy.
