Successful Conduct of Two CBSE Workshops on Gender Sensitivity and Life Skills (Advanced) at Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, hosted two enlightening and interactive CBSE Workshops on Gender Sensitivity and Life Skills (Advanced) on 11th October 2025 (Saturday). The workshops aimed to foster a deeper understanding of gender equity, inclusivity, and essential life skills among educators, empowering them to
create a more respectful and balanced learning environment.
The primary objective of the Gender Sensitivity workshop was to sensitize teachers towards gender issues, break prevalent stereotypes, and encourage equitable
participation of all genders within classrooms and school activities. The program commenced with a welcome address, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp amidst the recitation of shlokas.
The training session of the Gender Sensitivity workshop was conducted by two distinguished educators, Dr. Vibha Ray and Ms. Isha Anand, who shared valuable
insights on the importance of recognizing unconscious bias and promoting fairness through curriculum, pedagogy, and everyday interactions.
The CBSE Workshop on Life Skills (Advanced) had Ms. Ritu Sharma and Ms. Pooja Aggarwal as resource persons. The workshop focused on enhancing teachers’ emotional intelligence, decision-making abilities, and interpersonal effectiveness. Through interactive group tasks and reflective discussions, participants explored techniques to foster resilience, empathy, and positive classroom relationships. The sessions encouraged teachers to integrate life skills education seamlessly into daily teaching, promoting holistic student development.
Teachers enthusiastically engaged in thought-provoking sessions that highlighted real-life classroom situations, helping them identify subtle forms of gender bias and ways to address them effectively. They gained a stronger understanding of gender equity and inclusivity, learned strategies to integrate gender-sensitive practices into their teaching, and developed a more empathetic approach towards students.
The program concluded with a collective pledge by all participants to nurture a learning environment where every child feels valued, respected, and empowered—irrespective of gender. The school administration expressed heartfelt gratitude to CBSE, the resource persons, and the organizing committee for their valuable contribution to the success of the workshops.
