Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, is hosting its 8th edition of the Model United Nations conference and the 3rd edition of the All India Bhavans MUN Conference, from May 29th to May 31st, 2025. The conference aims to ignite a spark of global citizenship among the youth, empowering them to become responsible global leaders.
The inaugural ceremony featured a solemn lamp lighting ritual, setting the tone for a meaningful discourse. Esteemed Chief Guest Ms. Pawan Sudhir, Professor, and Head of Department in Arts and Aesthetics (NCERT) New Delhi accompanied by Principal Mrs. Gulshan Kaur and distinguished guests Mrs. Amar Kulwant Singh, wife of the Founder Chairman Sh. Kulwant Singh (Former Chief Secretary) and Mrs. Manju Gupta, Retd. IAS, added gravity to the occasion. The school band's lyrical performance and then an energetic opening dance were followed by a thought-provoking video that inspired delegates to think beyond borders. The day one witnessed approximately 375 delegates from across India. These delegates will engage in deliberations on pressing international issues, focusing on the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through various committees, including UNSC, WHO, ECOSOC, COP, UNGA, UNESCO, UNHRC, ICJ, and a Lok Sabha simulation. The three- day event, covered by the international press, promises impressive debates and discussions, shaping young minds into responsible global citizens. This platform will hone their leadership, diplomacy, and critical thinking skills. Principal Mrs. Gulshan Kaur emphasized that true transformation begins with individual conviction and responsibility. Delegates should lead with courage, compassion, and integrity, aiming for meaningful impact rather than just awards. Change starts with individual resolve, and it's up to each delegate to create the change they wish to see.
