With a view to give young Bhavanites an opportunity to express themselves, instill values and confidence in them, and reconnect them with their roots, Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula organised a grand cultural event, ‘Mhara Haryana’ - A Cultural Extravaganza of Vibrant Culture of Haryana’ on Friday, November 10, 2023 in the school auditorium.
The honourable DC of Panchkula Shri Sushil Sarwan, IAS graced the occasion with his presence as the Chief Guest; along with the esteemed members of the School Management and worthy Principal, Ms. Gulshan Kaur. The event commenced by lighting the lamp of knowledge and wisdom by the revered guests. This was followed by depiction of the rich cultural heritage, festivals, sports and economic growth of Haryana through mesmerising dances and songs interwoven in a well-crafted narrative. From its ancient art forms to their traditional clothing and earthy lifestyle, the play had a lot to showcase about the enriching society of Haryana, the flag bearer of its traditions.
The wonderfully sung song by the students and the captivating tunes of the orchestra and Ragini created a lively mood. The exhibition of Kisan mela along with the vibrant dances like ‘Dhamaal’, ‘Sawan’, ‘Ghoomer’ and ‘Mega dance’ served as a treat to the eyes of the spectators. All the items were woven into the very fabric of Haryana’s folk tradition. The various art forms like pictures, paintings and local handicrafts showcased the rich cultural heritage of Haryana. For guests and visitors, the event offered a great cultural immersion.
Shri Sushil Sarwan congratulated the school Principal for her visionary leadership and acknowledged the fact that Bhavan Vidyalaya is known for its excellent service in the field of education. He advised the students to show respect towards their parents and teachers, the pillars of their success. He also praised the staff and the students for their great efforts put up by them. The honourable Principal also encouraged all the stakeholders with her pearls of wisdom and congratulated all those behind the success of the momentous event.
